From the Rockies to the sea...living life the fun way!

In my fantasy world, I would major in globe-trotting, minor in adventure, and Peter Pan would be my favorite professor. Luckily, I live in a world where God answers prayers and dreams come true (and I'm talking bigger than Disney World).
I spent the summer working in the heart of the Colorado Rockies at Trail West, a Young Life family camp. Not only did I get to serve Jesus, I lived with him, I hiked Princeton with him, together we caught bugs, laughed, square- danced, and played board games. I woke up every morning to the beauty of God's palm, and on August 17th, it was so hard to drive away from the fun and comfort of God's playground. But, as Brett Dennen says, "Nothing lasts forever, not even the mountains..."
So, what's next?...so long Dallas, I'm off to see the world. Come August 29th, I'll set sail with the University of Virginia's Semester at Sea program. 108 days. 9 countries. An experience of a lifetime. I'll take 15 hours on the ship pertaining to my journalism and religious studies majors, literally go around the world, and be home in time for Christmas! God is good. I am looking forward to seeing the extent of His creation. At last, National Geographic Magazine will become more than the weight of my recycling bin...it will be real life.
I will use this blog to keep my fan club...i mean family and friends updated on my adventure. Check here weekly for pictures, videos, prayer requests and reflections from around the world. You can also "post" wish lists, updates, or just good ol' fashioned "hello's" for me to read.
